Year in review: Homes we built in 2025 across Brevard and Indian River
December has a way of making you look up from the work and take stock of what the year actually was. For us, that means thinking about the homes that were finished, the families that moved in, and the moments that stood out from a year of building across Brevard and Indian River County.
It wasn’t a simple year — none of them are. But looking back at the homes completed in 2025, across communities from community to community, there’s a lot worth reflecting on.
The homes
We finished homes this year in several parts of Brevard County and Indian River County. The range included everything from our Lemont Model (No longer available) built for a young family making their first move into new construction, to our Alexander Model built for a couple who had been in their previous home for fifteen years and knew exactly what they’d always wanted.
The floor plans that saw the most interest this year was The Barrington. What drove buyers toward this layout was its size and how the room is split between master and other bedrooms.
The most requested structural option this year, by a clear margin, was adding pools. That’s been consistent for several years running, and it makes sense — in Florida, outdoor living isn’t a seasonal thing. It’s a year-round part of how families use their homes.
What stood out this year
Every build has moments that stay with you. This year, a young nurse came to us with a piece of land from her family — something passed down. She came in with some knowledge on what she wanted and we supplied her with a wealth of knowledge and decisions that led to her dream home. Those are the projects that remind you why the work matters beyond the transaction.
We also finished a build this year where we had customer that came back to us for the second time. This time to build her home on the river. That kind of project tests every part of the process — permitting, subcontractor coordination, timeline management — and finishing it well is satisfying in a different way than a more straightforward build.
What the market taught us this year
2025 was a year where buyers were thoughtful. The urgency that characterized 2021 and 2022 has been replaced by something more deliberate — buyers who are doing real research, asking harder questions, and taking more time with the decision before they commit.
We think that’s healthy. A buyer who has done their homework tends to make better decisions through the build, engage more meaningfully with the selections process, and ultimately end up more satisfied with the result. The slower pace of decision-making hasn’t meant fewer good projects — it’s meant more considered ones.
The inventory picture in the existing home market continues to push buyers toward new construction conversations they might not have had a few years ago. Families who came to us having spent months looking at resale options and coming up short are a consistent part of who we’re talking to. That’s not unique to this market, but it’s pronounced enough in Brevard and Indian River that it shaped a lot of our conversations this year.
What we’re carrying into 2026
A few things from 2025 are shaping how we’re thinking about the year ahead. Families want to stick together and we’re all about family. We’ve designed a new plan around multi-generational living. We’ve also designed a plan around ensuites to allow separate bedrooms to really feel, separate.
The fundamentals don’t change: build carefully, communicate honestly, stand behind the work. But every year adds something to how we apply those things, and 2025 was no exception.
To the families who built with us this year — thank you. Handing over keys is the best part of this job, and getting to do it numerous times in 2025 is something we don’t take for granted.
If you’re thinking about building in 2026, now is a good time to start the conversation. The earlier you engage, the more time we have to find the right floor plan, evaluate your lot, and get into the permitting process without rushing the front end of the project.
